Astronaut Training Experience - ATX
Have you ever imagined yourself at the controls of the space shuttle? Feeling the g-forces of space flight? Or preparing for launch at Kennedy Space Center?
The Astronaut Training Experience (ATX) program immerses you in the world of today's astronauts. The program is an exciting combination of hands-on training and preparation for the rigors of spaceflight. Veteran NASA astronauts helped design the program, and you'll hear first-hand from them as you progress through an exciting day of mission simulation and exploration at the busiest launch facility on Earth.
Ages: 14 and older
Mission participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

ATX includes:
- Spaceflight Training Simulators
- Full Scale Space Shuttle Mission Simulation
- ATX Gear (including Mission Polo Shirt)
Morning Astronaut Training Program:
Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. at the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame (six miles west of the Visitor Complex)
Program start at 9:00 a.m.
Program ends between 12:50 p.m. & 1:30 p.m.
Afternoon Astronaut Training Program:
Check-in begins at 1:00 p.m. at the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame (six miles west of the Visitor Complex)
Program Start at 1:30 p.m.
Program ends between 5:40 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.
Some height and weight restrictions apply on certain simulators. Shorts or pants recommended (no skirts). Athletic footwear preferred. Participants should be free of neck and back injuries.
