Scout Trips for Boy & Girl Scouts

Salute to Scouts

Did you know that 60% of today's astronauts were active boy scouts or girl scouts?

To honor the troops that inspired so many of NASA’s astronauts, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex presents Salute to Scouts, a special event to inspire the next generation of explorers.

The annual Salute to Scouts event includes:

  • Full-day access to all KSC Visitor Complex shows and exhibits
  • Bus tour of Kennedy Space Center launch areas
  • Astronaut meet and greet
  • Shuttle Launch Experience motion-based space simulator
  • Special hands-on activities
  • U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame®

Salute to Scouts activities are designed to support Space Exploration and Aerospace Merit Badge requirements. All Salute to Scouts programs are family events. All (paid) attending family members are encouraged to participate with their scouts. Download more information regarding the Overnight Adventure programs for Scouts.

Please note reservations are required in advance by calling 877.404.3806.

Male Leaders and Chaperones allowed to attend: In order to accommodate different scout council policies, we hold two different Girl Scout Overnight Adventures a year - one that follows the National Girl Scout Council policy of allowing male leaders and chaperones and one that follows the more restrictive policy of some Girl Scout Councils. Please note that there are no male siblings or male minors allowed at either of the Girl Scout events.  We will provide a male sleeping area away from the Girl Scout sleeping area during the Overnight Adventure Program.
