Security Information

For the safety of our guests and crewmembers, the following items are not permitted at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex:

  • Firearms of any type (with or without a permit)
  • Ammunition (live or spent)
  • Pepper/mace sprays
  • Knives larger than a typical pocket knife with a blade greater than 3" in length
  • Automatic (switchblade) type knives 
  • Box cutters or similar items
  • Any other large items with sharp edges or pointed ends

Additionally hard-sided coolers, luggage and other large bags are not permitted through the front gate and alcohol may not be brought onto the premises.


All bags, purses and other items may be opened and inspected at the Visitor Complex at the discretion of Security Management. If any of the above items are discovered, you will be asked to return them to your vehicle. If you choose not to return the items to your vehicle, you must surrender them to a security officer. Surrendered items will not be returned to you.
