April 25th, 2025 marks the 35th anniversary of the deployment of the Hubble Space Telescope. Over the decades, Hubble has made more than 1.6 million observations that furthered humans’ understanding of the cosmos. Dive into the history-making space telescope Friday April 25 through Sunday, April 27 during our anniversary celebration. Learn more about Hubble by adding the following to your day:

  • Visit the Information center before entering the visitor complex to pick up informational handouts* about this Great Observatory, sent by the Hubble Space Telescope team.
  • Stop by Planet Play to pick up a copy of the Hubble Space Telescope Activity Sheet*, then get a head start on the activities at the coloring station on the first floor of Planet Play.
  • In Journey To Mars on Saturday and Sunday only, faculty members from Florida Tech will be giving subject-matter expert presentations on the Hubble Space Telescope – all of whom have PhD’s in astrophysics and have worked firsthand with data from Hubble. Presentations will take place at 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:30 PM, and 4:30 PM.
  • Finally, do not miss Hubble 3D, playing inside the IMAX® theater. The documentary, narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, features real footage captured by IMAX cameras during Hubble servicing missions STS-61 and STS-125. This 44-minute film will be presented in 3D and can be seen at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:30 PM daily. Arrive 15 minutes early as late entries are not permitted. All films inside IMAX are included with admission and do not require a reservation.

Beyond these limited-time offerings, remember to visit Space Shuttle Atlantis to see the full-scale replica of the Hubble Space Telescope and stop by the Hubble Space Telescope Theater for featurettes on its servicing missions.

*All handouts and activity sheets are complimentary and available while supplies last.
