Your team can be a part of the next generation of space explorers that prepare for human’s deep space travel in the all-new Astronaut Training Experience® Center, the newest attraction at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The Astronaut Training Experience Center features two new programs: Astronaut Training Experience and Mars Base 1. In a private Astronaut Training Experience or Mars Base 1 program, you and your team will come as close to training, living and working on the Red Planet as possible without ever leaving Earth. Hone your teamwork, communication and collaboration skills with each of these programs.

 

All-New Astronaut Training Experience (ATX)

In this completely new program, train like an astronaut preparing for the next mission to Mars like nowhere else on Earth. Join your crew as you complete a mission simulation including launching, landing and walking on Mars, and perform a spacewalk in a microgravity simulation environment. 

Length: 5 hours

Trainees: Individuals or groups, ages 10 and older

Price: $175 (plus tax)

 

 

Mars Base 1

Travel to Mars to live and work for the day at Mars Base 1. Set in a landscape of the future, Rookie Astronaut teams have the unique opportunity to manage the Base Operations Center on Mars, harvest plants in the Botany Lab, program robots to optimize solar energy and adapt to the challenges of living in the Martian environment. 

Length: 7 hours

Trainees: Individuals or groups, ages 10 and older

Price: $150 (plus tax)

Admission to the Astronaut Training Experience and Mars Base 1 do not include daily admission to the visitor complex, but daily admission is not required to participate. Add admission to visit on your second day and have the complete Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex experience!

 

You can also add the Training Stages of ATX, shorter experiences, available as an add-on enhancement to daily admission.

 

SAFETY AND RESTRICTIONS FOR ATX:

English Fluency: Due to safety instructions and the interactive content essential to this program, each guest must be fluent in English in order to participate in ATX.

All Astronaut Training Experience Simulators: For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this experience.  Expectant mothers should not participate.

Lander/Rover Simulator: Those who have had recent surgery or injury should not ride.  Participants must be at least 51” tall.

Walk on Mars Virtual Reality: If you experience seizures, loss of awareness, eye strain, altered vision or other visual abnormalities, dizziness, disorientation, or any symptom related to motion sickness, you should not participate.  Guests who have pre-existing binocular vision abnormalities should not participate.

Spacewalk Training: Participants must be at least 48 inches/1.22 meters tall. Max weight 275 pounds/127 kilograms.
