One Small Step to Build a Stronger Community! Participate in Space Race February 3, 2017

The inaugural Space Race is a two and four-mile walk/run throughout Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex that benefits United Way of Brevard. Walk or run through the historic Rocket Garden where America’s history in space is revealed and don’t miss the opportunity to run by the full-scale replica space shuttle stack at the entrance to Space Shuttle Atlantis. Experience Kennedy Space Center’s newest attraction after Space Race, Heroes & Legends featuring the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame brings to life the enthralling stories of America’s pioneering astronauts with high-tech special effects. Want to meet an astronaut? Award winners in each category of the inaugural Space Race will receive their award from veteran NASA astronaut Jon McBride. After the race, enjoy a beer or wine in the Rocket Garden at the post-race party. 

The Space Race at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex benefits the United Way of Brevard County, where more than 82,000 people experience challenges with hunger, homelessness, domestic violence and health. Proceeds from the Space Race stay local and for every one dollar donated, United Way brings an average of three matching dollars into the Brevard County community. Did you know that 1 in 4 people in Brevard County will use a United Way service this year?Space Race is suitable for runners and walkers of all ages and is family friendly. Walk or run with your family and/or other guests for an additional $2.50 each. Have fun, learn about space and get some exercise!

Register before January 6, 2017 for the 2 mile walk/run for $25 or 4 mile walk/run for $30. After January 6, the donation increases $5 for each with another $5 increase on the day of the race. Register today: KennedySpaceCenter.com/SpaceRace2017
