Global Launch Event

Jul 16, 2019 10:00 AM - Jul 16, 2019 04:00 PM Rocket Garden

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is joining the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and other NASA centers for Global Launch Day on July 16, 2019, the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11’s launch. The visitor complex is helping launch a record number of air rockets and guests are invited to help.

Between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, visit the Junior Astronaut Activity Tent in the Rocket Garden for stomp rocket launches and to build your own straw rocket. The Global Launch event is fun and entertaining, but it also teaches STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education to future space explorers.

Be sure to use the hashtag #GlobalRocketLaunch to join in on the conversation and see other paper rocket launches from around the world.
