Launch And A Movie | SpaceX Falcon 9 SAOCOM 1B and Hubble

NOTE: SpaceX is now targeting the launch of SAOCOM 1B for Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 7:18 PM ET. All tickets purchased for the previously targeted launch dates of August 27, 2020 and August 28, 2020 remain valid for use on this new launch date.


MISSION

SpaceX will launch SAOCOM 1B atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. SAOCOM 1B, or SAtélite Argentino de Observación Con Microondas 1B, is an Earth-observation mission launching for Argentina’s space agency, Comisión Nacional de Actividades Espaciales (CONAE). SpaceX will be launching from Cape Canaveral's Space Launch Complex 40, approximately 6.7 miles/10.8 kilometers from the Launch And A Movie viewing. Afterwards, the Falcon 9 will be landing 8.8 miles/14 kilometers at Landing Zone 1 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.


LAUNCH AND A MOVIE VIEWING

Witness liftoff of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and watch a space-themed movie from the comfort of your car at the drive-in Launch And A Movie event. Parking opens at 5:30 PM with live NASA TV playing until the live launch feed starts prior to liftoff. After the rocket launch and landing of the Falcon 9 booster, enjoy the short film Hubble narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio as you journey through distant galaxies to explore the grandeur and mysteries of our celestial surroundings and accompany space-walking astronauts as they attempt the most difficult and important tasks in NASA’s history. Prepackaged snacks will be available for purchase.

Cost for entry is $50 for per vehicle. Launch And A Movie ticket includes entry for all seated passengers in the vehicle. Masks are required for guests outside of their vehicle. Restrooms are available. Oversized vehicles will be directed to park at the back of the lots. Please plan ahead for traffic and parking. Tailgating, including grilling and alcoholic beverages, will not be permitted. Launch viewing will not be available from inside the visitor complex. Admission to the visitor complex is not included or needed.



SCRUB POLICY

If the launch is postponed prior to the arrival time on the Launch And A Movie ticket, the ticket will be valid for the next launch attempt. In the event of a scrub or if the launch is postponed after the arrival time on the Launch And A Movie ticket, the ticket will be valid for the next launch attempt. The Launch And A Movie ticket is valid for a total of two launch attempts.
