A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is targeting a launch of GPS III Space Vehicle 03 from Cape Canaveral. This will launch the U.S. Air Force’s third-generation navigation satellite for the Global Positioning System (GPS). GPS III SV02 will join GPS III SV01 (launched December 2018), GPS III SV02 (launched July 2019) and other operational GPS satellites already in orbit. GPS delivers positioning, navigation and timing services supporting the United States and other operations. GPS III SV03 will help bring higher power and more accurate signals that are harder to jam.
The SpaceX Falcon 9 GPS III mission is targeted to launch during the visitor complex’s operating hours, so guests may be able to view the launch from the following location at the main visitor complex.
North Atlantis Lawn
- Approximately 6.7 miles/10.8 kilometers from launch pad.
- Included with entry to the visitor complex.
- Bleacher seating and launch commentary with access to restrooms.
- Opens at 2 PM with launch video feed.

Be sure to arrive early and prepare for increased attendance and traffic on launch days. The visitor complex opens at 10:00 AM and will remain open for launch viewing. Plan ahead for traffic, parking, temperature check lines and security screening. The viewing location and the available bleacher seating are first come, first served. The Explore Today, Explore Tomorrow admission ticket is not a launch viewing ticket. The ticket is date specific and is not transferable between days.
