地球优先 | 游客综合体的绿色通道

肯尼迪航天中心的环保团队经常收到许多关于我们如何保护环境的问题。面对每天成千上万的游客，小举措也能产生大影响！美国国家航空航天局的肯尼迪航天中心位于梅里特岛国家野生动物保护区内，该保护区占地 14 万英亩。由特拉华北方公司运营的肯尼迪航天中心游客综合体与美国国家航空航天局合作，共同保护和尊重我们的地球家园。特拉华北方公司的 "绿色之路 "计划有助于减少人类在美丽环境中的足迹。

减少一次性塑料制品

If you want a straw or lid, just ask! The straws are bio-based, not paper, so they will last all day but still are biodegradable. Similarly, food plates, bowls, and trays in our cafes are made from recycled pulp, and the cutlery and to-go lids are bio-based as well. The bags provided in our retail shops for your NASA gear are made of bio-based plastic and soy ink, so they are biodegradable. You can also purchase a recycled bag from our retail shops that are made from 100% post-consumer plastic bottles.

 

保护野生动物

The Apollo/Saturn V Center has LED lighting. All outdoor lighting is LED and meets the Fish and Wildlife sea turtle-compliant requirements. As another way to protect the wildlife, we highly encourage guests to refrain from feeding the wildlife they encounter at the visitor complex, and we have safe deflectors to discourage birds from joining guests around the cafes.

 

回收！

Plastic bottles, cardboard, aluminum cans and non-food contaminated paper is collected and recycled in the single stream containers. We also recycle shredded paper, toner cartridges, batteries, lamps, metal, wood, concrete, and tires.

• Electric low-speed vehicles are used around the park as an alternative to driving gasoline vehicles. Additionally, the Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour buses are being replaced with new, clean diesel buses.

• When disposing of your leftover food, plates, and cutlery in our cafes, please place your waste in the appropriate trash bins.
• Always recycle your plastic bottles in our recycling bins around the park. You can also recycle your used visitor complex map as you exit the park. You can also save a map and download our app!
• 切勿喂食野生动物！帮助我们保护动物，防止它们变得具有攻击性。
• 自带水瓶。我们在整个建筑群内设有许多加水站。您还可以购买一个纪念水杯，全天续水。
• Purchase a recycled bag from a retail store to use even after you leave the visitor complex.
• 考虑使用自己的耳机来听我们的智能导游。
