On August 30, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope joined NASA’s other observatories to unveil the elusive expanding universe and paint a wider view of our galaxy and billions beyond. Once Roman data becomes available, scientists will build out the most complete 3D map of the universe ever made. From there, observatories such as the James Webb Space Telescope can dig deeper into cosmic phenomena with its sharper and narrower view.

This month, “We Choose to Go to Kennedy” host Jenna sat down with public engagement lead Peter Sooy, ahead of the launch, to give the rundown on the new observatory.
