NASA astronaut and Navy test pilot Steve Frick flew two space shuttle missions, logging over 565 hours in space and leading critical International Space Station assembly efforts.
Captain Steve Frick is a former NASA astronaut and veteran of two space shuttle missions, logging over 565 hours in space. Selected by NASA in 1996, he served in key roles, including pilot of STS-110 and commander of STS-122. His missions contributed significantly to the construction and expansion of the International Space Station, including the installation of the S0 Truss and the European Columbus Laboratory.
NASAでは、STS-114帰還ミッションのリードCAPCOMや宇宙飛行士室探査部門のチーフなど、いくつかの指導的ポジションを歴任。また、コロンビア事故後の回収作業やオリオン宇宙船の開発でも重要な役割を果たした。
NASAに入社する前は、米海軍のパイロットおよびテストパイロットとして、砂漠の嵐で26回の戦闘任務に就き、F/A-18ホーネットの空母搭載試験を実施した。38機の航空機で4,300時間以上飛行し、370回以上空母に着艦して、2010年に海軍を退役した。
