LAUNCH VIEWING

Please read carefully as launch viewing opportunities for this historic launch are different than previous rocket launches.

All ticket packages are non-refundable. In order to manage the anticipated increased visitation to the visitor complex, all guests were required to pre-purchase one of the below ticket packages. Launch viewing ticket packages are only valid on the day of the SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch, which is currently scheduled for February 6, 2018 1:30 PM EST.

ARRIVAL INFORMATION

All packages include vehicle placard that will be required to enter the visitor complex on day of launch. Please carefully read and understand the scrub policy for each package (link below).

Any Falcon Heavy launch viewing package holder that does not yet have your vehicle placard, you may pick it up on February 6 at the parking lot east of the former ATX Center on Vectorspace Blvd. and immediately before the bridge on NASA Parkway/FL-405 on your right. Placard distribution at this site begins at 6:30 AM.

Please note your placard has a sticker identifying how many hours prior to launch you should arrive. Based on the launch window beginning at 1:30 PM, please match the arrival time below to your sticker information and plan to arrive at the correct time. This is important to minimize traffic as much as possible and allow guests to access their viewing locations. Plan on time for increased traffic and parking.

Arrive 6 hours prior to launch – 7:30 AM

Arrive 5 hours prior to launch – 8:30 AM

Arrive 4 hours prior to launch – 9:30 AM

Arrive 3 hours prior to launch – 10:30 AM

Arrive 2 hours prior to launch – 11:30 AM

The last bus for the Feel the Heat package with viewing at the Apollo/Saturn V Center will leave the main visitor complex at 10:30 AM in order have time for the Shuttle Landing Facility experience. Please plan enough time to allow for traffic, parking, security and bus boarding. Bus boarding will take place at the Bus Tours entrance within the visitor complex.

The Close package at Vectorspace Boulevard does not open until 11:30 AM, so please do not arrive earlier that day.

For each packages’ inclusions, FAQs and scrub policies, please visit the Falcon Heavy Launch Landing Page.

Due to the special nature and high demand of this launch and the various package options, this launch day will be a separately priced event that requires a launch package for admission. No other tickets will be redeemable on the day of the launch including annual passes, employee complimentary tickets, vouchers and any pre-paid admission tickets.

THE FALCON HEAVY ROCKET

The most powerful rocket this generation has ever seen, SpaceX’s new Falcon Heavy rocket, is now targeted to launch February 6, 2018 1:30 PM EST.

The Falcon Heavy can lift over double the payload, or cargo, as the next closest rocket, as it is designed for potential human spaceflight—perhaps back to the Moon or even Mars in the future. To put it in perspective, the rocket’s first stage is composed of three Falcon 9 nine-engine cores, totaling 27 Merlin engines. Additionally, the second stage’s engine can be restarted many times, making multiple orbits possible.

SpaceX is attempting to land all three first stages of the rocket: two on land at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, and one on the autonomous spaceport drone ship (ASDS), Of Course I Still Love You, in the Atlantic Ocean.

Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for launch updates.

Launch date, time, and viewing opportunities are subject to change. Launches can be affected by technical and mechanical issues as well as range operations and weather, either in advance or at the last minute. Please note that ticket prices are for all ages. Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is not responsible for the launch’s status or schedule. Please carefully read and understand the scrub policies, available at the link for each package.
