U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame Induction 2018Apr 21, 2018 11:00 AM - Apr 21, 2018 12:00 AM Space Shuttle Atlantis
This year, veteran astronauts Dr. Thomas D. Jones and Capt. Scott D. Altman have been selected to receive one of the highest honors in their industry. On April 21, 2018 at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, they will be inducted into the United States Astronaut Hall of Fame® to become two of only 95 individuals to ever receive this esteemed honor.
The ceremony will take place in Space Shuttle Atlantis® at 11:00 AM, while the orbiter floats overhead. Guests are invited to attend the ceremony, included with daily admission.
The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) participated in creating a venue where space travelers could be remembered – the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, which opened in 1990. Today, the foundation serves as a consultant for the Hall of Fame, which includes conducting the selection process of astronauts for enshrinement by an outside committee. Buy tickets for the gala and other offerings through ASF.
On Sunday, April 22 at 11:00 AM, join us for a 1-hour autograph session with the two new inductees. The event will be held on the bottom floor of Space Shuttle Atlantis and is also included with admission. Please note that the number of items signed will be limited to ensure all guests in line have the opportunity to meet the astronauts.
Be sure to visit the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame at Kennedy Space Center, located inside Heroes & Legends. There, you will learn about all of the astronauts who belong to this prestigious group through interactive kiosks. Plus, snap a photo with any of the Mercury 7 astronauts before you leave.
