NASA SLS Artemis I

NASA is targeting the next launch attempt of the Artemis I mission for Wednesday, Nov. 16 with liftoff of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket carrying the Orion spacecraft planned during a 120-minute launch window that opens at 1:04 a.m. EST.

 

The visitor  complex will open on November 15, 2022 at 8:00 PM for guests. 
Please plan for increased traffic.

 

MISSION:

Artemis I is the first test of NASA’s deep space exploration systems, with the Orion spacecraft launching atop the massive Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. This mission is the first in a series of missions to demonstrate NASA’s ability to extend human existence to the Moon and beyond.

Main Visitor Complex Launch Viewing Package

A limited number of main visitor complex launch viewing packages have been made available for experiencing the historic launch of NASA's Artemis I rocket. Don't miss out on being a part of NASA's return to the moon and beyond!

Designated viewing locations are set up in the Atlantis South Lot and the Atlantis West Pavillion. You will see the launch as soon as the rocket clears the tree line.

 

WHERE: Main Visitor Complex
DISTANCE: Approximately 8 miles/12.9 kilometers from the launch pad
PRICE: $99 plus tax, available online only SOLD OUT

 

Inclusions:

  • Launch viewing packages support two launch attempts and a 2nd daily admission ticket. The 2nd admission is valid to use within 30 days after the launch date
  • Commemorative launch card

 

Important Information:

  • Launch viewing coverage at designated launch viewing areas will begin about three hours before the launch window opens
  • Launch viewing packages are for all ages
  • Please review the Scrub Policy

 

Information for Feel the Heat Package Holders

All the Feel the Heat packages are sold out as packages purchased and used for both the August 29 and September 3 launch attempt remain valid for this next launch attempt. Package inclusions, such as food, beverage and retail, are considered used in full from the previous launch attempts.  

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Bus boarding for Feel the Heat begins at 9:00 PM on November 15, 2022. Arrive early.
  • Bleacher space is limited. For lawn seating, we recommend you bring a blanket or foldable chair that can be carried in a shoulder bag.
  • Launch viewing packages are for all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Launch viewing packages support two launch attempts and a 2nd daily admission ticket. The 2nd admission is valid to use within 30 days after the launch date.

 

By purchasing a package, you understand that all launch viewing packages are mission-specific and the launch time is subject to change with little notice. Packages are non-transferable, and please be familiar with the scrub policy specific to this launch.

Information for Feel the Fun Package Holders

All Feel the Fun packages are sold out as packages purchased and used for both the August 29 and September 3 launch attempt remain valid for this next launch attempt. Package inclusions, such as food, beverage and retail, are considered used in full from the previous launch attempts.

Apollo / Saturn V Center Launch Transportation Ticket

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

 

  • Bus boarding for the Apollo/Saturn V Launch Transportation Ticket (LTT) begins at 9:00 PM on November 15, 2022 at the Bus Embarkation area.
  • This ticket is a single-use ticket, only valid on November 15, 2022.
  • Plan to arrive early and plan for increased traffic.
  • Recommended items to bring with you:
    • Insect repellent
    • Soft-sided coolers or lunch boxes
    • Water in plastic bottles (no glass will be permitted)
    • Blanket or umbrella-style folding camp chairs carried in shoulder bags. All items must fit in your seat on the bus and follow all security protocols.
    • Cameras, tripods, or binoculars

NASA Causeway Launch Transportation Ticket


Important Information:

  • Bus boarding for the NASA Causeway begins at 10:30 PM on November 15, 2022 at the engine end of the Saturn 1B rocket (located in the Rocket Garden)
  • This ticket is a single-use ticket, only valid on November 15, 2022
  • No food or drink will be available for purchase at this location. Please bring snacks/drinks in a soft-sided cooler following security rules.
  • Plan to arrive early and plan for increased traffic
  • Bleacher seating and portable restrooms will be available.
  • Recommended items to bring with you:
    • Insect repellent
    • Soft-sided coolers or lunch boxes
    • Water in plastic bottles (no glass will be permitted)
