2022 World Space Week ExpoOct 10, 2022 05:00 PM Space Shuttle Atlantis & Journey to Mars
Join Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in participating in this year's World Space Week, which is celebrating "space and sustainability". On Monday, October 10, guests can step into the bottom of Space Shuttle Atlantis® to engage with NASA's space and industry partners - including Sierra Space, ISS National Lab, Jacobs, Blue Origin, GenH2 Discover Hydrogen and more - to hear about how they're helping change the world as we know it. Plus, enjoy special presentations, vibrant displays, and educational hands-on activities all included with admission.
From 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, find educational learning activities and demonstrations from the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex Education team such as Soil Plant Analysis Development and a DNA Extraction Demonstration. Plus, the team will be offering guided tours of the Botany Lab inside Mars Base 1, located inside the Astronaut Training Experience (ATX)® Center. The tours will take about 15 minutes and will begin at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Meet the Educators at their stations in Atlantis before the designated tour time.

Head over to Journey to Mars for a special presentation beginning at 2:00 PM called, "Liquid Hydrogen: The Key to Space Exploration and Sustainable Energy" by James Fesmire, EVP & Chief Architect of GenH2. Fesmire is a member of the NASA Hall of Fame and a Cryogenic Test Lab Founder. He has more than 35 years of experience in cryogenics and low-temperature problem-solving with a specialty in all aspects of liquid hydrogen storage and transfer. During his presentation, hear about liquid hydrogen's role in the success of the space program and the future of advanced clean energy.
Started in 1999 by the United Nations, World Space Week celebrates science and technology internationally and its contributions to the betterment of human life, which is celebrated each year from October 4 - 10.
