Moon Fest Weekend
Jul 19, 2024 - Jul 21, 2024 Kennedy Space Center Visitor ComplexApollo 11 landed on the Moon July 20, 1969. In celebration of the 55th anniversary of this global event, we are honoring history while looking forward to NASA’s next giant leap – the Artemis missions.
Join us the weekend of July 19 – 21 to not only learn about the Apollo Program but hear the latest on the upcoming Artemis missions and our return to the Moon.
Moon Fest Weekend includes:
- Space Shuttle Atlantis®
- Family-friendly activities (all day).
- Silent DJ from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
- The Pink Team 233 will exhibit a competition robot and mini-robots for guest interaction on the bottom floor of Space Shuttle Atlantis®
- Apollo/Saturn V Center
- “Astro and Orbit,” comedy due performers at the People’s Moon exhibit at 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM.
- Photo opportunity with a real Apollo-era lunar rover training vehicle (all day).
- Journey To Mars Launched by United Launch Alliance (Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 only.)
- “Apollo to Artemis“ presentations from our space expert Steve at 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.
- Rocket Garden
- “One Giant Leap” short film on the top of the hour (all day).
- MRVN® Garage
- Hop inside the Mars Rover Vehicle Navigator for a rare photo opportunity. Purchase a keepsake photo from AstroPhoto.
- STEAM Team cart, outside of the Space Shop.
- Meet Snoopy from All Systems Are Go! from 9:30 – 10:25 AM and 3:00 – 3:45 PM.
