The Artemis Generation: Astronaut Christina Koch

Aug 04, 2021 03:00 PM Journey To Mars

Learn about the future of American space exploration from the Artemis Generation!

Current NASA astronaut Christina Koch made history recently, setting the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman (328 days!) and as part of the first all-female team to conduct spacewalks. Therefore, it’s no surprise she has an incredible story to tell, beginning with how she found inspiration from right here at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Join us as she discusses how the visitor complex helped inspire her to pursue her dreams of becoming an astronaut during a virtual presentation in Journey To Mars: Explorers Wanted on August 4 at 3 PM. From being selected as an astronaut in 2013, to her expeditions to the International Space Station, and now as one of 18 astronauts NASA has selected to form the Artemis Team, hear how they are helping pave the way for the next astronaut missions on and around the Moon.

This presentation is included with daily admission, so add it to your plan for the day!
