United Launch Alliance (ULA) is now targeting 1:37 PM ET on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 for launch.


MISSION

An Atlas V rocket will launch the fifth Space Based Infrared System Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (SBIRS GEO Flight 5) missile warning satellite into orbit from Cape Canaveral. SBIRS is a satellite network to support missile warning, missile defense, battlespace awareness and technical intelligence for the U.S. Space Force Space and Missile Systems Center.


LAUNCH VIEWING

BANANA CREEK LAUNCH VIEWING AREA, located adjacent to the Apollo/Saturn V Center

  • Approximately 5.1 miles/8.7 kilometers from launch pad.
  • $20 in addition to admission.
  • Includes reserved bleacher seating, launch commentary, and webcast with access to restrooms and the Apollo/Saturn V Center.
  • The Banana Creek Launch Viewing Area bleachers open at 11:45 AM: select bus boarding time while purchasing tickets. This ticket includes bus transportation and does not require on-site bus transportation reservations.

APOLLO/SATURN V CENTER LAWN

  • Approximately 5.1 miles/8.7 kilometers from launch pad.
  • Included with admission. Requires a complimentary transportation reservation with a departure time prior to the launch. Reservations can only be made on-site for the same day. Only a limited number of reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Access to the Banana Creek viewing area is not included.
  • Includes launch audio along with access to restrooms.
  • The Apollo/Saturn V Center Lawn opens at 10:00 AM.

NORTH ATLANTIS LAWN

  • Approximately 7.1 miles/11.4 kilometers from launch pad.
  • Includes bleacher seating and launch commentary included with admission.
  • The North Atlantis Lawn opens at 11:30 AM with the launch video feed.

Please note, the visitor complex will open early at 9:00 AM. Be sure to arrive early and prepare for increased attendance and traffic on launch days. Plan ahead for traffic, parking, temperature check lines and security screening. The Apollo/Saturn V Center Lawn and North Atlantis Lawn viewing locations and available bleacher seating is first-come, first-served. Please note that launch viewing tickets, including tickets for the reserved seating at the Banana Creek Launch Viewing Area, are non-transferable and non-refundable. Launch date, time, and viewing opportunities are subject to change.
