NASA’s Lucy is an exciting mission headed for the Trojan asteroids to help better understand more about the formation of our solar system and planets. In celebration of this mission, join us on October 16, 2021 (the day of the Lucy launch) for hands on activities all about Lucy! Visit the Atlantis West Pavillion for the following family-friendly activations: 

• Ask a Space Scientist – What kind of things can we learn about our solar system? What are Trojan asteroids? NASA and Lucy mission scientists will be available to answer your space science questions.   
• Ask a Space Engineer – Do you want to know how engineers design and build things to work in space?  NASA and Lucy mission engineers can answer your space exploration questions.  
• Lucy Mission Storytelling – Come to the special story times about Lucy and learn about the epic space journey that the spacecraft will take to visit the oldest objects in the solar system – the Trojan asteroids. 
• “How fast can you fix the rocket?” – The rocket will be blasting off, but there is something that needs to be fixed before it can leave Earth. Can you beat the clock to fix it in less than 3 minutes to keep the mission blasting off on time?  
• Asteroid Cornhole – Can you get the Lucy spacecraft to do a close encounter with the Trojan asteroids? See how good you are at celestial mechanics with your four chances.   
• Asteroid Encounter – Be a NASA Mission Planner and see how close you can send the spacecraft to the 8 asteroids it will be visiting on its 12-year mission. What will your score be?  
• Lucy Mission Coloring Books – Color your way across the Lucy mission! 
• Lucy Mission Instrument Displays and Models – Come and meet the Lucy instrument teams and learn how NASA will explore the amazing Trojan Asteroids. 
• Lucy Mission Trivia Contest – How much do you know (or can learn) about the Lucy mission? Compete for cool Lucy prizes. Trivia contests will run each hour.  
• Lucy Mission Poetry Slam - Join us and bring your own Lucy poem, or have fun and vote for your favorites!  
• Soda Straw Rockets – Make your rocket and see how well you can launch it to the asteroids. 
• Lucy Mission Raffle – Win some cool Lucy mission souvenirs. Drawings every hour. 
• Lucy Mission Selfie Stations – Get your own selfie with the Lucy spacecraft representation.
